thought of the day..#5 - ABSOLUTES
Have you ever realised how DIFFERENT everyone are? Well lately i had been reminded again of that fact. I think the more you think about yourselves and how pitiful you are... the more you forget that everyone is the same in so many different ways.
The same in terms of the fact that they love (to pity) themselves more than they love others- and different by application.
p.s. please don't mind the "you" i used here - the "you" is used to address myself not anyone else..
Anyway, what i mean by my title "absolutes" is that there is no other absolutes in this world other than those in the Bible. People might argue - "but the Bible was written 10 000 years ago", "people are different from they are now", etc. But is it?!
Does the Bible talks about specifics?
What i've learned all this time is that the Bible commands us and compels us for a change of heart and attitude NOT a change of external behavior.
True, external behavior will change- but it's no use if our internal condition is still the same. The only difference is that we before we have a blunt sinner now we have a sly sinner who cleverly hides his/her sins away by changing external qualities.
But this is one VERY2 IMPORTANT thing to remember - that i write this post not to judge others - but to remind myself of this fact. I pray that when i read this post again in the future - i will be challenged by what i say and be challenged to actually do it - and to not be a hypocrite that i am now.
Because this is what i know - the accuser is usually put at a higher level than the one being accused. Yes, people who are wrong are always hated! But if that's the case then it's logical to hate ourselves because WE ARE ALWAYS WRONG!! Who are we to say that others are wrong?! The only reason we know why others are wrong is because we ourselves have done it before and seen the consequences ourselves isn't it?
I am still learning - but i am glad. Glad that when i do fail- it does not compromise my salvation and eternal life in heaven! That i am glad about! that is my only hope and assurance to keep on learning to be more and more like God.
