good reminder
Yesterday on the radio i've heard this wonderful testimony by the host. It's about judging others. Hope this will be an encouragement to everyone as well as a reminder.
But don't make that as an excuse to be sinful! because the price that God pays for that sins is more than what we could ever afford! Don't test and underestimate God and take His grace for granted - for that God will discipline those whom He loves, and He will punish those who disobeys Him.
The story is about the host and her son. Days before sunday, her son promised her that he would go to church together with her on sunday. And on sunday, she was waiting for her son until the sermon starts. She waited, waited and waited, but there is still no sign of her son.I think this story (eventhough not properly explained) is a very good reminder for me. Because i tend to see what i want to see. I enjoy being angry at someone - condemning them that they are wrong - eventhough for the most time - they are not. Why? simply because judging someone and being angry makes us feel in control, powerful, and excited. We are sinful being by nature.
While she was waiting, in her mind she was angry. She was furious because he didn't fulfill his promise to her. During the sermon, she already begins to formulate her own "sermon" that she would give to her son afterwards. And after all of that waiting, there is still no sign of her son until the sermon ends.
When the service ended, Guess what?! Her son was actually sitting right behind her for most of the service. He was late because there was no bus that goes straight to the church, and he had to walk quite a bit to reach the church.
But don't make that as an excuse to be sinful! because the price that God pays for that sins is more than what we could ever afford! Don't test and underestimate God and take His grace for granted - for that God will discipline those whom He loves, and He will punish those who disobeys Him.
