left behind?

Luke 17:33-37
30"It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32Remember Lot's wife! 33Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."[d]

37"Where, Lord?" they asked.
He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather."
This is probably one of the most "well-known" verse for dispensationalist. It retells of Jesus' own saying on how the second coming will look like.

To the dispensationalist, this verse means that the ones taken away will be the ones who are "Chosen" by God. The "good" ones and the bad ones are left - if you want to know more about this - they've actually got a movie about it called "Left behind" (and here's some trivia for you - it actually was mentioned in the Simpsons hehehe).

Anyway... to me, that was the only explanation i've heard of the passage - i've actually never really think about the passage - i've been dismissing it because of the dispensationalist belief and not even trying to see what it meant ahhahah.

but when i read this passage today for my daily reading, i've realized something - what if this passage actually means the reverse of what the dispensationalist believe. See Jesus' logic here - he was explaining to the disciples that one will be taken away from their daily routines and one will be left - then the disciples came and asked Him "where", and His answer was particularly interesting "Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather".

To me it seems like the ones taken away is actually the "bad" and "punished" one - that is why Jesus answered them by saying that these people are taken away to a place where "the corpse is" and the disciples will know this because "there the vultures will gather".

To me this makes more sense - i don't believe that God will take people away for judgement/heaven and leave the rest - i think when the Second Coming does come - it will be a universal judgement for everyone. All will see and experience it together.

Furthermore, i also believe in the resurrection of the flesh as well as spiritual. So - if I am to interpret it according to what i believe in, i think our daily routines is actually a proof that we are saved. That we were able to continue what we do on earth (but more perfect) - and being taken away from the "new earth" and taken to where the dead are - is the punishment that those who rejected God will get.

i don't know - but i'm quite convinced of my interpretation - but i haven't checked with anyone/any book regarding how accurate it is. So if you want to trust my interpretation - go ahead - but i do suggest that you, not only listen to only me, but also struggle with the verse on your own - find out what the answer really is. I might be wrong. And i am still learning too like you ehehe.
