Long time no write...

It has been such a long time that i have not written anything for this blog. I kinda missed it. I do twittering more than i do blogging now - since being a random and feely person - i tend to jump around ideas in a blink of an eye. i keep on indulging myself in various ideas at one time - which resulted in not having solid foundation for any of the ideas that i indulged myself in...

Not long ago, a friend of mine told me the long term effect that twitter, comic books, television and internet have on a person. It makes us rather.. fast in everything. We don't process information as carefully and slowly as before. The introduction of fast, efficient and convenient food - information presentation and everything teach us to be impatient, unthinking and lazy being.

We just take what is given to us without giving much consideration about what we are taking. We demands things to be there as fast and no fuss as possible. and we no longer appreciate time the way we used to be.

I think the art that is lost now is the art of being patient. How important it was when the Scripture exhort us to be patient as His children, and how much more important that commands is now!!

The art of being patient applies to every single area of life, not just in relationship, but in the way we handle problems and life in general. The more impatient we are, the more things we demands, the easier we get bored, the faster we get angry over little things and the lazieer we become.

We became lazy to wait (if there such a thing). And the impact of being impatient has on our Spiritual life is evenmore greater!!

When we pray, we demand God to answer our prayer right away like fast food. When God is teaching us something, we fret and we complain because His way of teaching is too slow.

But if you think about it - have you ever seen anything that was done fast that last? God's method is often slow but sure. He is careful and He wants us to really own what He gives us (not only in terms of material blessings but many other more significant and important and priceless blessings).

When we pray for patience and love and kindness. He really wants to show us every single aspect of being kind, patient and loving. He never plans to shape and make us like how we make hamburgers nowadays. He plans to really turn and shape us into a loving, kind and patient being by slowly teaching us the consequence and difficult aspect of being loving, kind and patient. And this applies to everything good that we ask of Him.

This post is a bit random and I can't think of a verse to back up what i am saying. But i do pray that by reading this post, you and i can be reminded to be patient especially in times such as these.
