Why?

Why is God so kind and merciful
To one such as me
The one who mocked Him on that tree
The one who put Him on that cross

Why is God so kind and merciful

One who finds it hard to be merciful to others
To those He died for

Why is God so loving and gracious
To one such as me
The one who demands things from Him
Yet unwilling to give up anything

Why is God so loving and gracious

The one who specifies what i want
Rather than His will be done

Why is this mighty and powerful God
Chose to be patient with one such as me
One that nags and screams and swears
At His overflowing merciful grace

Why is He as loving as He is
Teaching me to slowly understand His love
His good and perfect plan in this world
His everlasting goodness and glorious character

Why?
I can never understand why
Or fully comprehend the answer
Until He reveals it to me
On that day when I will be
Beside Him and enjoying His glory

One thing should be
In this live that i live now
To run the race and not give up
To fan my gifts into flame
That i may join in that glorious finishing line
With others that He had allowed me to meet and serve

To keep on reminding myself that faith is all i need
Faith that acknowledges that He is able
Faith that says that it is all from Him and for Him
Faith that fix its eyes on Him and Him only
Faith that keeps me away from the lies of the deceiver
That i am able to do anything without Him
